‘BE THE BEST YOU CAN BE’
“History cannot give us a program for the future, but it can give us a further understanding of ourselves and of our common humanity, so that we can better face the future”.
(Robert Penn Warren)
If you want to encourage young learners to engage with the world around them and understand their part in it, come and join a like-minded faculty of Humanities teachers.
History is a popular and successful subject at GCSE. Due to the promotion of one of our history teachers we are looking for a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher of History to join the Humanities faculty to teach across both key stages.
The successful candidate will be passionate about their subject, committed to motivating students to reach their full potential and offer enrichment beyond the classroom. Claydon High School provides an excellent support programme for newly appointed staff.
Claydon High School is a popular, oversubscribed and friendly comprehensive school on the outskirts of Ipswich; we are situated close to the A14 with easy transport links across Suffolk and into Essex. We are a small school with 776 students on roll which means that there is a close working relationship with all the staff and students in the school. As part of the Penrose Learning Trust we also work closely with other schools within the MAT to achieve “excellence through collaboration”.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Closing date: Midday Thursday 1st May 2025
Interview date: Week beginning 6th May 2025
Claydon High School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Successful candidates will be required to provide references, undergo employment checks and an enhanced disclosure via the Disclosure and Barring Service.
